Abstract
A vacuum control system has been developed for the MLI Model 1.2-400 Synchrotron Light Source. The choice of industrial programmable controllers provides expansion capability and the ability to adapt to off-the-shelf components. The MLI synchrotron vacuum control system can expand to include this diversity, as the ring and user beamline workstations are expanded. Downtime and repairs are minimized by using readily available modules. The MLI synchrotron vacuum control system can interface to any main accelerator control system, reducing the main computer software loading, and maintaining operator response speed at a much lower cost than a custom system.<>
