Abstract :
Due to the development of the worldwide smart grid, IEC 61850, as a major standard in the future smart grid area, will bear more and more important role. This paper introduces the traditional development method of IEC 61850 and its main problems, such as complex modeling, long development cycle and high development cost. In order to solve these problems, this paper proposes a new development method of IEC 61850 protocol, and skips some complex parts in the traditional development method of IEC 61850. In this paper the messages meeting IEC 61850 protocol are obtained, after they are analyzed and tested, the client-side and server-side software based on IEC 61850 protocol are developed, which makes the base for embedding the IEC61850 into intelligent electronic devices.
