Abstract :
A quadrature low spur direct digital frequency synthesizer (DDS) based on amplitude compensation technique is presented in this paper. In the proposed DDS architecture the spur caused by phase truncation error can be submerged in the background noise caused by amplitude quantization error, the capacity of ROM can be decreased remarkably by using two multipliers. The proposed DDS architecture is implemented in an Altera Cyclone FPGA and the spurious performance is compared with conventional DDS architecture.
