Abstract
From the perspective of system theory and complexity science, we analyzed the complex features of dynamic evolution and adaptation mechanisms of virtual communities and built a mathematical model to describe mutually adaptive changes between agents, systems and strategies. Results not only showed that theories and methods of CAS are effective tools to study the evolution of virtual communities, but also could guide the operation and management activities of virtual communities to good orientation.
