Abstract
A number of techniques have been described in the literature for improving TCP performance over satellite links. Generally these are designed to mitigate the effect of the link latency on TCP performance. This paper considers the deployment of performance enhancing proxies in more generalised mesh and partial mesh topologies which include satellite links. Results are presented and interpreted for asymmetric connection-splitting proxies.
