Abstract :
In this paper we discuss the test requirements for 76GHz automotive radar. We give an overview of automotive radar systems and then present a low-cost Radar Test System (RTS) which addresses the measurement requirements of the radar in R&D and production environments. The low-cost system is based on the original Anritsu RTS but utilizes L.O. tracking schemes to minimize the instantaneous bandwidth required of the delay devices and utilizes a novel technique for generating false Doppler. The RTS provides a moving target simulator for testing the radar sensor, and it provides mm-wave signal analysis for power and spectral characterization of the radar transmitter.
