Abstract
Based on the questionnaire towards the residents living around the Yellow River in Shandong Province, the contingent valuation method (CVM) research suggests that among interviewees who are willing to compensate, yearly payment level of residents´ ecological compensation is 184.38 yuan on average. Logit and the linear regression model indicates that the education level and the income level present remarkable positive correlation with the willingness and payment level for ecological compensation, whereas the age has negative correlation with the willingness to pay. For willingness to pay, female has stronger willingness than male.
