Abstract :
This paper presents a digitally controlled RF predistorter suitable for power amplifiers operating in different traffic and load conditions. The developed digital controlled RF predistorter has enough control parameters and wide tunable complex gain range to make it adaptive and suitable to different type of power amplifiers such as TWTAs and SSPAs and stimulus. A Ku band prototype was designed, built and tested with 20 Watt TWTA and satisfactory results were obtained. Though the digital controller, the RF predistorter can be optimized for any given power back off operating point, stimulus signal, and temperature conditions.
