Abstract
Aspect independent radar target discrimination method, using the natural frequencies of arbitrary shaped objects, is introduced. The approach is based on the extinction-pulse (E-pulse) technique and, as the numerical simulation shows, it is relatively insensitive to random noise and to estimations of modal contents. This method allows to discriminate superwide-band radar targets down to the signal-to-noise ratio approximately 5 dB. The results of experimental research of the signals scattered by the arbitrarily shaped objects in lossy media are presented.
