Abstract :
The study of sedimentary facies is one of main segments of fine reservoir description. With the development of computer technology, it becomes possible for geologists to study sediment facies from point of single well to surface and even to three-dimension. Here we give an example of a carbonate reservoir oil field. First, we begin the study with seismic facies by artificial neural network. Then according to lithology character of well logs and sediment knowledge, well log facies have been built. Finally combined seismic data and well log data, a three-dimensional sediment facies model has been built. On the basis of the facies model, reservoir properties can be well described and the reservoir distribution can be clearly showed which have made reservoir prediction more efficient and more credible.
