Abstract :
In this paper, we study the influence of directional antennas on the propagation of time reversal (TR) ultra wideband (UWB) electromagnetic waves in a typical indoor environment. The directional antennas are formed by a dipole and a reflection horn with different flare directions. The results demonstrate that the directional antennas can influence the time and spatial focusing characteristics of the TR UWB electromagnetic waves. It implies that the UWB communication performance can be improved by using directional antennas.
