Abstract :
A giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) magnetic sensor is designed in the present work. Differing from the previously reported sensors, a couple of permanent magnets are applied to provide a bias magnetic field for the sensor probe which consists of commercial amorphous ribbon. A negative feedback-coil is adopted to improve the linearity of the sensor output. The sensor shows sensitivity of 1041 mV/Oe in the range of plusmn1 Oe, measurement precision of less than 0.11% at room temperature and good thermal stability in the temperature region between -20 and 30degC.
