The application of spatial analysis functions of GIS technology in urban planning

With the rapid progress of urbanization, urban planning is attracted much more attentions. The popularization of computer technology and GIS technology provides the technical support for urban planning. This paper introduces the concepts of spatial analysis functions of GIS briefly, and analyses the spatial analysis function of the application in urban planning specifically. How to apply the GIS spatial analysis function in the different urban planning field is demonstrated in the paper, which also gives the direction of the future application of GIS science and technology in urban planning.
