Abstract :
In this paper, taking into account the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems experiencing log-normal shadowing fading, we investigate the ergodic capacity of such MIMO systems. For the MIMO fading channels with shadowing, using the Gauss Hermite integration, we present an approximated capacity expression. We also give a simplified and improved lower bound on the ergodic capacity by applying Jensen’s inequality. Numerical results demonstrate the accuracy of our analytical expressions and the tightness of our lower bounds.
