Abstract :
In this paper, an fingerprint matching method based on multi-stage validation is proposed. The prosess mainly includes: (i) measuring the similarity between every two Orientation_based Minutia Descriptors (OMD) to receive the Coarse Corresponding Set (CCS), the two OMDs are from input and enrolled fingerprint respectively; (ii) validating each minutiae pair in CCS by using Local Minutiae Topological Structure (LMTS) to obtain the Refined Corresponding Set (RCS); (iii) for minutiae pair in CCS but not in RCS, constructing its LMTS with the minutiae belonged to RCS to validate it again, after that, merging the passed minutiae pairs and minutiae pairs in RCS to the Final Corresponding Set (FCS) . Experiments prove the effectiveness of our method.
