Abstract :
In this paper, a new marchand balun with coupled line structure is suggested and realized by LIGA-like micromachining process. The balun has uniplanar structure (coplanar waveguide structure, CPW) and the simulation results show a very wide bandwidth of 18 GHz (6 GHz ~ 24 GHz), low power split of less than 1 dB, and low phase split of 10 degree between output ports. This CPW LIGA-like balun can be widely used in wireless communication systems.
