Abstract
Bit-error-rate (BER) performance degradation introduced by carrier phase and timing errors is evaluated for serial and parallel demodulation of an intersymbol interference and jitter free offset quadrature phase shift keying (IJF-OQPSK) signal. The effects of these errors on performance are obtained for both limited and nonlimited modulator signals. Serial demodulation using average zero crossing bit synchronization is shown to provide either less or the same BER degradation as that obtained with maximum eye opening synchronization
