Abstract :
A novel vertically installed planar (VIP) structure - a vertical stub mounted on a microstrip line gap - was designed and analyzed. It has a large vertical dimension with respect to the wavelength. The structure was analyzed by 3D EM simulator FIDELITY up to 26 GHz. The equivalent circuit based on the even and odd mode approach was derived. Good agreement between simulation and measurement was achieved.
