Abstract :
A design technique of NRD guide ring resonator is developed based on the mode coupling theory. Besides the operating mode, the parasitic mode is generated at curved sections of the resonator as a result of the mode conversion. A design expression for the circular ring resonator is derived by using those coupling modes. Moreover, low-loss and small-sized NRD guide channel dropping filter is fabricated successfully by using the ring resonators.
