Abstract :
A study of the potential of the integrated optics version of the Mach-Zehnder interferometer, as part of a high-voltage sensor for power distribution systems, has been conducted. The possibility of designing the basic device parameters, i.e., the half-wave voltage, intrinsic phase-difference, and on/off ratio, was examined. The temperature dependence of these parameters was studied as well. Also, the linearity of these devices and their responses to fast impulses were measured
