Abstract
This paper proposes a new method to achieve MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) without mechanical sensors (Anemoscope or position sensor) in WECS (Wind Energy Conversion System) based on PMSG (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator). With this method, by adopting SMO (sliding mode observer), MPPT can be achieved only by measuring phase voltages and currents of the generator. This method proves to be effective and necessary by experiments based on simulink.
