Abstract
The equivalent circuit inductances of a direct drive wind power generator are important for the inverter control parameters. Inverter manufactures insist on knowing the exact values. There are several difficulties to overcome when calculating the synchronous inductances. A challenge in the inductance calculation is the separation of the flux linkage component due to the permanent magnets. This paper presents a unique method to accurately calculate the inductances from the machine characteristics.
