Abstract :
A novel Multiband CPW-Fed monopole antenna suitable for multi input multi output (MIMO) application is presented. A simple fork-shaped CPW-Fed monopole antenna with inverted U-shaped strip resonates in three frequency bands. Loading the strip with slot can divide the lowest frequency into to separated bands. The proposed antenna covers frequency bands including PCS, WiMAX and WLAN application with reflection coefficient below -10dB centred at 1.9, 2.4, 3.5 and 5.5 GHz. A two element array of antenna with close spacing of λg/5 is appropriate for MIMO application. The array has low mutual coupling, low envelope correlation and high efficiency over all frequency bands. The antenna parameters and simulation with measured results are presented.
