Abstract
This paper describes an extension of earlier work in which an impulse was injected in one half-cycle of the power frequency wave in an attempt to trigger partial discharge activity. The present work emphasises the ability to trigger partial discharges in a predetermined voltage window and shows that injection in one half cycle only distorts the discharge activity in the other half-cycle
