Abstract
15-months of rain rate measured at two sites inside the NTUA campus in Greece are analyzed in this paper. The 1-min averaged rain rate time series are calculated through the processing of the tipping bucket measurements. Firstly, the 1st order statistics of rain rate are calculated. The experimental long-term Complementary Cumulative Distribution Function (CCDF) is given for both sites and the joint CCDF is also calculated. Various distributions are used to model the CCDF of rain rate and they are evaluated. Also, the CCDF of rain attenuation for hypothetical links is computed using the experimental statistics of rain rate. Furthermore, 2nd order statistics of the rain rate time series are evaluated. Finally, the dynamic parameter of the Maseng-Bakken model as applied to rain rate stochastic processes is calculated and compared to the values derived from other propagation experiments in the literature.
