Abstract
Recently aerosols have been discovered for their harmful effects on the world. In this particular case, it will be discussed the small particles in the atmosphere that could affect directly the health of the people in the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area, specifically the respiratory system. The solar photometer was used to place the value of the optical properties of the aerosols in three areas of the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area. The previous information was inserted in the Lambeert Beer´s mathematical model. Finally, a correlation was gotten between the data of the final intensity of the aerosols and the data resulting of a measuring instrument of symptoms of respiratory diseases applied to a nonrandom sample of 60 people of Guadalajara, Zapopan, and Tlaquepaque.
