  • Abstract
To explore the effect of concentration of Ca2+ on the short-term depression of neuronal microcircuitry in the prefrontal cortex (PFC), we recorded the inhibitory postsynaptic potentials (IPSPs) of Non-pyramidal-Pyramidal (NP-P) type of synaptic connections with stimulus of different frequencies in "normal" and "physiological" solution, and simulated the different activity potentials with the leaky integrate-and-fire model. The results indicate that there is short-term depression for NP-P neural connection with stimulus of different frequencies and Ca concentration is of no effect on short-term depression on the NP-P type neuronal microcircuitry.
