Abstract :
A computer algorithm written in BASIC is presented, along with five examples of its use. The algorithm uses the trigonometric form of Fourier series to synthesize periodic waveforms and implements Parseval´s theorem to estimate the mean-square-value (MSV). The algorithm includes a plot routine for displaying the synthesized waveform on the computer screen, and at the user´s option a hard copy can be generated by a line printer. By making changes in one line of the algorithm, it is possible to illustrate the effects of a linear system defined in terms of its amplitude and phase response
