Abstract
This paper presents the design methodology of a surface mounted brushless generator. A simple magnet configuration is presented for the optimum design. The design analysis and performance evaluation are carried out using finite element simulation techniques. The analytical design method is compared with finite element analysis. The simulation program is run on the prototype model after defining all input values and the values of electromagnetic parameters produced at various points under different speed and load conditions are tabulated
