Abstract :
The purpose of this paper is to study the influence of some materials used as substrates on the microstrip antenna design. The propagation characteristics of the annular ring microstrip antenna (ARMSA) printed on different substrates, namely dielectric isotropic, dielectric anisotropic, ferrite, and metamaterial are presented. The model accuracy is investigated through comparisons between results obtained via spectral domain analysis and simulations with the commercial Ansoft HFSS.
