Abstract :
The power flow in systems that contain a plurality of power sources and loads is investigated. Matching matching topologies are derived which allow for optimal tuning, in order to attain design targets such as maximal power extraction or operation with maximal conversion efficiency. The treatment is analytical and the findings belong to the area of basic circuit theory. Nevertheless it is expected that derivatives of this findings will apply to practical systems containing multiple power sources such as photovoltaic generators, multiple battery powered systems and fuel cell stacks. At larger power scale, it may also apply in the context of multi generator power grids (distributed generation).
