Abstract :
Dispersed generation and its connection to distribution networks have attracted the attention of many researchers. The connection causes voltage deviation beyond prescribed voltage quality criteria, which is not only the magnitude but also the imbalance of three-phase voltage, since distributed generators with rather small capacities adopt single-phase connections. We investigate the voltage regulation with variable reactors, and we propose the "optimum phase difference algorithm" to decide each reactance for a typical radial distribution system with three-phase and three-wire. The characteristics of the control with this algorithm are also discussed using computer simulation studies.
