  • Abstract
    This panel presentation illustrates how failure analysis fits into the greater schemes of condition assessment, equipment reliability modeling and O&M improvement. It highlights how an electric utility can use O&M data to improve power system performance by: establishing accurate failure probabilities, life time expectancies; using actual data to improve the accuracy of predictive reliability studies; and establishing system performance without the use of costly assessment or monitoring systems.
