Abstract :
Two faulted equations in the Yuwana and Seborg PID tuning algorithm are analyzed. Simulation results show that the corrected method has an inability to provide a suitable tuning identification even for systems with a somewhat large delay. It is pointed out that the large delay problem mainly comes from the overestimated value of the delay time parameter of the process model for its identification. A new PID tuning identification algorithm based on the change of frequency scale is developed to solve it
