Abstract :
A planar antenna is designed for ultra-wideband applications in this paper. A circular patch as a radiating element printed on a dielectric substrate with relative permittivity of 2.65, thickness of 1 mm, and fed by a 50 Omega microstrip line. A gradual changing structure is designed in the bottom of the floor to improve the impedance bandwidth. Simulated and tested results show the proposed antenna can meet the ultra-wideband (UWB) bandwidth requirement of 3.1-10.6 GHz. The antenna has a steady-state gain, and omni-directional radiation patterns among the working frequency.
