Abstract

This paper describes a web based sensor monitoring system on two different platforms: a Linux based computer and an embedded Linux-based single board computer. In order to accomplish this, we have used a ´LabJack´ hardware interface device and Technologic System´s ´TS-7400´ single board computer. The software design uses open source software packages including the MySQL database server, PHP sever side scripting and Debian based Linux 2.6. The aim of this project was to make a cost effective network-based sensor monitoring system which is portable for various applications.
