Abstract
This paper describes a 90 kW L-band solid state transmitter for the next generation air route surveillance radar (ARSR-4) which supports a system clutter cancellation ratio greater than 65 dB. The transmitter contains phase control loops for beam steering and reduction of pulse phase distortion, as well as pulse amplitude shaping for spectral bandwidth compliance.<>
