Abstract :
This work presents an account of a comprehensive set of field tests performed on a steam turbine and an aeroderivative gas turbine for the purpose of developing and validating power system stability models to represent the plants in system planning studies. In addition, tests were performed to identify the modal frequency and no-load damping of subsynchronous torsional modes associated with the shaft of each of the two turbine-generators.
