Abstract
In this paper, the spectral features in recorded heart sounds with mechanical prosthetic heart valves were investigated using various spectral estimation techniques. Results showed that for patients with mechanical prosthetic heart valve, using only PSD techniques, it is possible to identify the normal and abnormal patients, as well as classify perivalvular leakage, valve obstruction and stenosis-based malfunctions.
