  • Abstract
    Based on analysis of the process and reasons for blue-green algae outbreak in Taihu Lake in 2007, from five areas, such as the quality of life for residents, the residents physical and mental health, employment, environmental awareness and government´s public service, to defined the social impact of the blue-green algae event in Taihu Lake, and then explore the necessity and feasibility of studying. The article suggests that it is necessary to study the social impact for quantify the social impact, scientific planning and decision-making, and achieve harmonious society.
