Abstract
Electric-load intelligence (E-LI) is an innovative concept which aims to develop new knowledge and apply it intelligently with technologies to enhance the value of electricity. The key components of E-LI such as monitoring, communication, analysis, interface, decision making, control and learning capability are presented. Different studies on load signatures are used to illustrate how E-LI can be developed and applied using the electrical waveforms of loads. This knowledge has the potential of creating new economic, strategic and commercial value while using electricity
