Abstract
This note addresses the problem of stabilizing linear time-invariant systems where sensors, controllers and plants are connected by noisy communication channels. A novel quantization, coding and control policy, which relies on both information-theoretic and control-theoretic tools, is proposed. It is derived that such a scheme can stabilize the unstable plant with limited data rates of noisy channels. A lower bound of data rates for stabilization is presented. Simulation results show the validity of the proposed control scheme.
