Abstract
The paper presents a simulation study of the electromagnetic far-field radiation from a hard disk drive (HDD) with multiple slots. The modeling is achieved by introducing appropriate compact models using a transmission line matrix (TLM) time-domain method. The slots are designed with different configurations in the hard disk drive, which simulates the physical system. The effect of the slots interaction on resonance of enclosure is predicted accurately without increasing practical design cost and time. The measures to reduce field radiation are discussed thus immunity of HDD can be improved.
