Abstract
SAR considerations constitute a key issue for portable phones. While standard SAR measurements require heavy and time consuming testing procedures, a strong demand exists for faster SAR assessment approaches. Such a need is more particularly pronounced, for instance, during the design phase of new terminal antennas, or when conducting pre-compliance measurements. This paper describes a new approach, which exhibits the particularity to be non-invasive and then fully compatible with usual antenna testing techniques. Furthermore, this approach is statistically based. The result is obtained in terms of probability for the SAR not to exceed some given value.
