Abstract
Resulting from high welding currents, resistance welding is accompanied by intense magnetic fields. In the paper, it is demonstrated that field exposure of operators of resistance welding machines can be lowered by means of field compensation, if otherwise exposure limits would be exceeded. The field compensation arrangements are investigated and optimized by finite elements (FEM) simulation and verified by measurements.
