Abstract :
In FM-CW radar level gauge, fast Fourier transform (FFT) is usually used to coarsely estimate the beat signal´s frequency. Algorithms for the frequency´s fine-estimation are also essential to improve range estimation. So, a method of estimating the beat signal´s frequency is proposed based on discrete Fourier transform (DFT) and interpolation. Simulation results show that the method is adaptive to noise and has high computational accuracy and small computation necessary, which makes it suitable for an online use of frequency-estimation.
