Abstract :
We report on the design of a data acquisition and logging system capable of simplifying data analysis by concentrating heterogeneous data onto one logging unit. For this purpose an intermediate interface connecting the data sources to the logging unit is proposed. This interface is designed such that generic embedded systems or desktop computer hardware can be utilized as logging unit, enabling network access to the data with minimal additional effort. Following a description of the overall architecture and the system components, we present our application of the system as part of a research project in multiplexed fiber sensors currently being conducted in our laboratory.
