Abstract
Three different formulations of spectral transitivity function based on LPC derived coefficients are evaluated for speech segmentation in a variable frame rate (VFR) vocoder. The quality of VFR vocoded speech has been compared with that of a fixed frame rate vocoder and some suggestions are made for further improvements to the segmentation, on the basis of this comparison
