Abstract :
Currently, high-speed networks are indispensable commodities for all users and they have become an integral part of their lifestyles. For this reason, it is necessary for the network to be available most of the time and to achieve transparent network failure recovery. In this paper, it is proposed to use Agent NetReconf, an agent based dynamic network reconfiguration algorithm that is capable of tolerating multiple router and link failures in high-speed networks with arbitrary topology. Agent NetReconf updates the routing tables asynchronously and does not require any global knowledge of the network topology. Agent NetReconf uses mobile and autonomous agents to detect and recover the network from failures. Agent NetReconf highlights the benefits of using smart networking devices as a means of building an active network.
