Abstract
The service-oriented characteristic of next generation optical network (NGON) has become increasingly obvious and the evolution trend from optical transport network (OTN) to service optical network (SON) has become more and more conspicuous as continuous appearance of new requirements of telecommunication services and intelligent development of OTN currently. But some pointed researches about key and fundamental problems which influence service-oriented evolution of optical network are lacked. These problems are considered in this paper, especially service-oriented functional extension of NGON and negotiation mechanism of network-oriented perspective and service-oriented perspective in SON environment are investigated and solutions of these problems are proposed. The solving of these problems provides major support to service combination of NGON and service-oriented evolution of NGON, and provides a new thought to constructing SON.
